Google SEO through Blogger and YouTube: Search Engine Index Optmization

How quickly does Google spider a YouTube video?

So, I've been trying to do some serious search engine optmization.

I have some great portlet development tutorials on my website, but as great as they are, they never seem to make it anywhere near the top of a google search. So, I decided to see if perhaps by hosting the CBT video tutorials on YouTube, perhaps Google would pay a little bit more respect to my content.

One thing I was interested in was how quickly Google would actually index the videos. I actually created a new YouTube account named tutorials168portlets and posted seven videos at about 5pm on July 11th, 2008. I kept checking Google with the name, and by 10pm the next day, Google had managed to pick up on two of my JSR168 portlet development videos.

So, it seems like a 24 hour turnaround is all Google needs to spider and index youtube sites. That's pretty good, considering that it seems to take almost a month for Google to spider any of my custom built websites that have newly registered domain names.
